When you’re doing a lot of juicing for your health, you want to drink the most nutrient-dense juices you can. Supplementing the already high nutrition level of juice can help your body walk that extra mile towards health and wellness.
One supplement that has an incredible amount and variety of nutrition is the blue-green algae spirulina. Packed with nutrition — protein, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals — spirulina is a complete and balanced food source. It is evolutionarily a very old lifeform, yet it holds many keys to the future as an easily cultivated, nutrititious, low environmental impact food source (think space travel).
Spirulina is so good for you, and juicing is a great way to slide it into your diet. It generally comes in pills or as a powder. Although you can’t add pills to juice, you can certainly add powder. One problem that some people have, though, is that it doesn’t blend in very easily. So even though it’s more clean-up, we’re going to use use a juicer first and then a blender on low speed. Alternatively, you can take your chances with a spoon or follow the advice of people on the Global Juice Feast forum for other ways to mix it in.

Then, pour into your blender. Add 2-3 tablespoons of Spirulina and blend on low until mixed. Pour into your glass and enjoy.
